Micron Plan to Build a $100 Billion ‘Megafab’ in New York
Micron Technology is an American producer that manufactures computer memory and computer data storage. It includes dynamic random-access memory, flash memory, and USB flash drives.
So Micron has announced they are investing $100 billion to build their newest MegaFab in Onondaga County, New York. It has been decided to invest $20 in the first step. They have aimed to start this construction to carry out their production activities in the next 20 years.
By this, they hope to create approximately more than 9000 Micron jobs. And this will create the possibility of creating about 50,000 jobs in New York.
This is their long-term project, and they want to make more than 40% of DRAM production globally.
Micron President and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra have said this is a historic event in New York. He says this will significantly strengthen America’s innovation and competitiveness in the coming decades.
